Does Cosmos upload code?
No, Cosmos does not upload your source code by default. Its core memory and code index are built and stored locally on your Mac.
Default behavior
When you index a project, Cosmos reads selected folders locally, builds a local index, and exposes bounded context through MCP to the AI tools you connect.
When data can leave the machine
- If a connected AI client sends Cosmos-provided context to its AI provider.
- If you manually send logs, screenshots, or files to support.
- If you later opt into a future hosted backup, sync, MCP, or cloud AI service.
