Use case
Local-first AI memory for developer workflows.
Cosmos keeps the default memory path on your machine: source code, notes, decisions, symbols, and lessons stay local. Hosted backup and sync are future opt-in services, not required for normal use.
- Default
- Nothing uploaded by default
- Platform
- macOS, Apple Silicon first
- Hosted services
- Future opt-in roadmap
Local-first by design
The core value of Cosmos should work before a server account exists. The local index is the product; hosted backup and sync are future convenience layers.
Trust boundary
- AI clients connect to Cosmos locally through MCP.
- Cosmos returns bounded context instead of pushing full projects to an external service.
- Security and limitation pages stay public so users can audit the current state.
